Floating (concurrent) and named user licenses

Floating (concurrent) and named user licenses

Different license types

There are three different license types on the One Click LCA platform. These are the named user licenses, floating user licenses and project-based licenses. While new project-based licenses are normally not available, this license type is used in large-scale projects in which multiple users have to work together on a licensed project. More commonly used now are the named user license type and the floating concurrent license type, with the named user license being a license which one or more users can access at the same time, and the floating license allows for unlimited users which have a limited amount of seats they can access the license with.

How to use a named user license?

Standard licenses are based on named users (single physical person with a personal email address). Thee named user(s) have to be provided on the purchase of the license and are the only ones who are then allowed to make use of the license. If you want to change your named user please contact support at support@bionova.fi.

Named users can simply log in with the email address and chosen password they have registered their account with on the One Click LCA platform.
Floating (concurrent) users are available subject to a contract. Please write to sales@bionova.fi if you would like to get more information on the possibilities for a floating license.

How to use a floating (concurrent) user license?

In order to access the license, your account user must be added to your company floating license. If your user has not been added to the license, send a request to support@bionova.fi.
Here is step by step guide for users working with floating (concurrent) license, please follow these steps on how to use the license:

You would first log in with the email address you have used for your registration on the One Click LCA platform and your chosen password. After that you will need to 'check out' the license in order to take one of the user seats of the license. The number of user seats is defined in the contract.

Step 1: First you need to check out the license in order to use it

This will enable you the access to the license features, to the tools, and to the projects which are created with this license (if you are the user of the project).

After Checking out you will see the your check out time and can close the popup window from X to start using the license.
If you do not wish to access your floating license, you can release it by clicking 'Release the license'

Step 2: When you are finished working with the license, make sure to release it

Click Licenses and Release the license, by doing this you will enable another user to work with the floating license.

What to do if number of simultaneous users (license capacity) is full?

The number of simultaneous users of your license is defined in the contract.

If all seats are already checked out for your license, you won't be able to access it. You will however, see the list of users who are active and you can easily then contact your colleagues to release a seat.

If you wish to access a project which was created with a floating license, you always need to 'Check out' the floating license before you are able to work with the project. If you do not check out the license, the project will be blocked.
