How the browser extension works

The My1Login browser extensions work by either:

  1. Connecting to the company Active Directory or Entra Directory
  2. Storing the client-side encrypted credentials on the My1Login cloud server
The job of the browser extensions is to search webpages for login fields, after the extension discovers a login field then it will reach out to either My1Login’s Active Directory Connector, My1Login's Entra Directory Service,  or My1Login’s cloud server (for web users). A response is sent back with whether the user is authorised to use the application, and if stored in My1Login, the credentials for the application. 

With authorised (encrypted) credentials received, they are then decrypted on the client-side, and enter them into the login field(s).

If the user does not have any stored credentials for that website, they simply login as normal and My1Login will take the action as set in the Plugin Settings configuration.
