How to create the invoice in Jusnote

Jusnote allows you to swiftly create invoices for the prepayment or payment to your clients. Before you start, please make sure that you have already created the contact to which you are going to send the invoice for prepayment, or that you have time or expenses entries withing the matter you are going to create the invoice. 

You can create the invoice in a couple of ways:

After taping on the "Create invoice" button you will be able to choose what type of invoice you need to create: for the prepayment or payment (post-payment).





  1. Date of invoice: select the date of creating the invoice. This is a required field.
  2. Pay until: By default, it will be filled with the date calculated from the due date set in Settings. To learn more about billing preferences, read this article. At the same time, you can set any other appropriate date for this specific invoice. 
  3. Client: from the drop-down menu choose the client you want to send the invoice. 
  4. Matter: select the Matter withing which you want to create the invoice. If you don't see the needed matter, simply start typing its name in the field. The Matter field is required only if you are creating the post-payment invoice. 
Please note, that money that you've gotten from the prepayment invoice will be funded on the virtual account of the Client, and if you select the Matter - on the virtual account of the Matter. 
  1. Purpose of payment (only for invoices for prepayment): specify the purpose of payment. This field is not required. 
  2. Amount (only for invoices for prepayment): enter the amount and the currency of payment. Please note, that the ability to select the currency of invoices is available only in the professional plan with the multicurrency option. In any other case, you can create an invoice only in the system currency. To learn more about setting up the system, please, read this article.
  3. Type of payment (only for invoices for post-payment): select the fixed or hourly type of payment for this invoice. Please note, that in case of choosing the hourly type of payment, the invoice will be created with activities of lawyers that are not included in other invoices with their hourly rates. In case of the absence of the rate, the system will apply the rate that is set in the system by default. Learn more about setting up individual rates for users.
  4. Description of work (only for invoices for post-payment): here you can write the general description of provided works and services. The description you can change during the editing of the invoice. If you need, you can add a detailed description of the provided services or performed works. In case of the absence of the rate, the system will apply the rate that is set in the system by default.
  5. Cost of work (only for invoices for post-payment): this field will be active in case you choose the fixed type of payment for the provided services or performed work. If you need to show expenses separately in the invoice, tap on the checkbox near the "Calculate costs separately" section.
After saving the data, the system will redirect you to the page of the new invoice for further work.
