Setting up access rights for managers

You can set how much access a Manager has in Click in two ways:
  1. Group: Choosing which Group they are allocated to
  2. Role: Setting their Profile type to:
    1. Manager: This Profile type has full access to all Click functions and other Profiles. They are subject to the following restrictions:- they cannot edit their own Profile :- they can only see other Profiles which are in their Group or Child Groups.
    2. Reporting Manager: a Manager Profile where all admin functions are disabled apart from the ability to view the Learners' courses to add evidence and sign-off learning outcomes. This DOES NOT allow them to sign-off the course sections.
    3. Reviewer Sign-off: a Manager Profile, the same as the Reporting Manager but this DOES allow them to sign-off the courses as well.
You set the Role and Group when adding them to the system.  Alternatively you can view and edit their Profile in the Learners page at any time.

Let's use some examples to help explain what you can do with these options.

Fairly Restful Care is a beautiful care home in the countryside with 30 staff, a manager, deputy manager, day senior, night senior, and training manager. The staff team are divided into day, night and domestic staff teams.
Using the Groups page the Manager sets up three groups:

Account: Fairly Restful Care
Group 1: Day staff 
Group 2:  Night staff
Group 3:  Domestic staff

Here are some examples of how to use the Group and Role selections to control the Manager access rights
Example 1
The Manager and training manager need full access to Click and all the staff.  So the following Group and Role selection needs to be made:
Group: Fairly Restful Care
Role: Manager

Example 2
The day senior needs to support the day staff staff with their courses, but the Manager doesn't want her to be able to add Learners, set courses or generate the certificate because this is the training managers job.  So the following Group and Role selection needs to be made:
Group: Day Staff
Role: Reporting Manager

Example 3
The deputy manager needs to be able to see all staff so he can sign off the courses when the training manager is on holiday. However, the Manager doesn't want the deputy to be able to add Learners or set courses because he isn't good with technology.  So the following Group and Role selection needs to be made:
Group: Fairly Restful Care
Role: Reviewer Sign-Off
