IMPORTANT INSTALLATION NOTES

Key Secure by Codelocks cabinets are supplied fully assembled, ready to install in your chosen location. Cabinets are provided with 1/4” mounting holes through the back of the cabinet, accessible while the cabinet door is open. Cabinets must be installed by a competent person, at a height suited to the users, using appropriate fasteners for the wall type and cabinet weight (including keys and/or padlocks).

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • Pencil
  • Spirit level
  • Power drill
  • Screwdriver
  • Fasteners to suit wall material
  • Drill bits to suit chosen fasteners

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. With the door open, position the cabinet against the wall making sure it is level and at a suitable height. Mark the position of the mounting holes.
  2. Put the cabinet down and drill the holes using the appropriate drill bit for the wall type and fasteners.
  3. Secure the cabinet to the wall using your chosen fasteners. Tighten each fastener a little at a time, rather than one fully, to avoid distorting the cabinet.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (Continued)

Floor standing cabinets are extremely heavy and must be secure to a wall to prevent tipping. In addition, we recommend floor standing cabinets are secured to the floor - please note that no mounting holes are provided in the base of the cabinet.

Floor standing cabinets should be installed on a flat floor or plinth that is suitable for the weight of the cabinet (including keys and/or padlocks). Please note, when opening the doors, the cabinet can tip forwards. Ensure you have a second person to help install these cabinets.
  1. With the door open, and a second person holding the cabinet upright, position the cabinet against the wall making sure it is level. Mark the position of the mounting holes.
  2. Move the cabinet to one side and drill the holes using the appropriate drill bit for the wall type and fasteners.
  3. Secure the cabinet to the wall using your chosen fasteners. Tighten each fastener a little at a time, rather than one fully, to avoid distorting the cabinet.
